Akula, Tabletop style RPG

Post by Haze on Tue Apr 02, 2013 5:47 pm

"They say that's where the Russians keep their beast."

"There is no beast. It's a submarine, steel and men like ours."

"I'm just saying, it doesn't bode well."

"This isn't the sixteenth century. There are no monsters at the edges of the map. Hell, there are no edges of the map."

"I'm just saying, maybe we should mention it to the guys before we go out. Better they hear it from us."

"You want to tell them a ghost story?"

"It's only a ghost story if they start telling it to each other."

The Akula Class was a killer. Every aspect of its design was honed towards finding us, and destroying us. None of us needed any embellishment to have cause for concern, but there was a legend. The story went that the last shark the Russians had created had been different: that this machine was manned by a crew of lunatics and psychopaths, who wanted not to follow orders, but simply to hunt and kill, and the craft itself was fitted with equipment even the Russians barely understood. Legend was, it was only partly controlled by the crew. In the legend, this killer had a name. It was the Chornaya Akula

The Black Shark.

Myself, Rankless, and Quixotic are going to be hosting a near-future submarine RPG. It's going to be D&D styled but not quite as rule heavy. It will be mostly just people dictating their characters' actions and dialogue. Anyway, if you are interested post below.

More to follow.

Also we're doing this on roll20.net, so you should sign up for an account there and familiarize yourself with the program if you want to join.
